Suspected Zahedan Bombers Arrested

Governor of Sistan-Baluchistan Province in southeastern Iran said the culprits behind a bombing in the city of Zahedan, which killed 19, have been arrested.

"Iran's intelligence and security forces took into custody a number of prime suspects in the Zahedan bombing," Ali-Mohammad Azad said, press tv reported.

He added that the suspects are being interrogated in the province's general intelligence department.

The bomb planted in a Shia mosque was detonated on Thursday where people had gathered to commemorate the death anniversary of the daughter of the prophet of Islam, Hazrat Fatima (PBUH).

Azad said that the explosion killed 19 people and injured 125 others.
