IRNON.comIran Mourns 20th Anniversary of Imam Khomeini Demise

 

A commemorative ceremony kicked off in Tehran on Thursday to mourn the 20th anniversary of the demise of the Founder of the Islamic Republic, the late Imam Khomeini. 
  


Iranians from all walks of life have gathered at the mausoleum of the late Imam Khomeini to commemorate his tragic departure and also to renew their allegiance to his ideals.

More than 1.5 million foreign dignitaries, ordinary people and senior Iranian officials are attending the mourning ceremony, the Islamic republic news agency reported.

A large number of domestic and foreign journalists and photographers will give coverage to the event.

The mourners, who have come to Imam Khomeini's mausoleum from different parts of the country and also from various countries, are dressed in black.
