Official Stresses Role of Foreign Media in Iran's Post-Election Unrests

Deputy prosecutor general of Tehran's public and revolutionary courts said on Saturday that the foreign media contributed a major role in the post-election frenzy in Iran. 
  

Addressing a court session held to try the detainees of the recent unrests in Iran, Mohebbati said that the foreign media aimed to provoke people to hold illegal gatherings and riots in a bid to intensify unrests.

"It should be noted that foreign media, including BBC Persian, VOA, Al-Arabia, Radio Farda and Radio Zamaneh, have played a salient role in training (rioters) and provoking illegal gatherings and unrests," he said.

Iranian Scientists Speed up Epoxy Resin Baking by Nanosilica Particles

Iranian researchers succeeded in accelerating reactions in epoxy resin baking through the addition of nanosilica particles. 
  

According to the Iranian Nanotechnology Initiative, details of the achievement made by the scientists at the University of Mazandaran will be published in the Journal of Applied Polymer Science.

"Epoxy resins are the most important group of thermoset resins. Because of high strength, stickiness, and proper chemical resistance, epoxy resins have wide industrial applications in polymeric composites production, glue, dye, electronics and auto industry, aerospace etc," said Mousa Ghaemi, the head of researchers.

Iran to Hang 14 Jundullah Members Tomorrow

Iranian authorities announced on Monday that they will execute the number two man of the Jundullah terrorist group along with 13 other terrorists publically in the eastern city of Zahedan on Tuesday. 
 
  
Abdulhamid Rigi, the number two man of the Jundullah terrorist group and brother of the ringleader Abdulmalik Rigi, has conducted a number of bombing operations and other violent attacks in Iran resulting in many casualties.

According to a statement by Sistan and Balouchestan's provincial Judiciary Office, the verdict on Abdulhamid and 13 other terrorist members of the group, who were sentenced to death for militancy and armed struggle against the Islamic Republic, armed hostage-taking and massacre of innocent people in Tasouki and Darzin regions in Bam, central Iran, will be carried out on Tuesday morning.

Iranian Diplomat Blasts US for Violation of Int'l Treaties

One of the freed Iranian diplomats who was in US custody for more than two years in Iraq lashed out at Washington for violating the international treaties by abducting other countries' diplomats. 
 
  
"The US forces violated all the international pacts by kidnapping us and they should account for their actions and the overt and open abduction of us," Mahmoud Farhadi who is also the commercial advisor to the governor of western province of Kermanshah told FNA at the airport Sunday night.

The five diplomats and Iranian consulate staffers were kidnapped in Arbil, Soleimanieh and Baghdad by the US forces in January 2007; they were released after more than two years of incarceration last week and handed over to the Iranian embassy in Baghdad on Thursday night.

Improvement in Diagnostic Strategies Decreases Fatality in SAH

Findings of a new study revealed that the case fatality of aneurysmal subarachnoid haemorrhage (SAH) decreased because the diagnostic and treatment strategies have improved. 
 
 
In this study published in the Lancet Journal, the studies included in the previous systematic review were reassessed with the new inclusion criteria. Changes in case fatality over time and the effect of age and sex were quantified with weighted linear regression.

Regional differences were analyzed with linear regression analysis, and the regions of interest were subsequently defined as reference regions and compared with the other regions.
